Jamie Walters to Appear on VH1 Teen Idol Reality Show

December 28, 2008

One of my fave characters from BH 90210, Ray Pruit is starring in a new VH1 reality series, Confessions of a Teen Idol. Jamie Walters stars along with Chris Atkins (Return of the Blue Lagoon), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Bill Hufsey (Married with Children), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Eric Nies (MTV’s Real World) and Adrian Zmed (Grease, Bachelor Party).

In the series, 7 former teen idols live together under one roof, and teen idol turned reality star Scott Baio helps to resurrect the actors careers. The actors will undergo acting lessons and therapy sessions to revisit the darkness lived in while being a teen idol.

As you may remember Jamie Walters was on Beverly Hills 90210 for two seasons on Donna’s abusive musician boyfriend. You may ask why is a verbally and physically abusive boyfriend one of my favorite characters? Ray added a sense of reality to the show - by shaking up Donna’s world and exposing her character’s weakness. Until Ray Donna was always the virginal, perfect princess. Although she remained a virgin throughout her relationship with Ray (she did have one drunken night when she almost gave it up), her character became stronger when she had to deal with ending her relationship with Ray after he pushed her down a flight of stairs in Palm Springs.

Here is Jamie’s biography from the Confessions of a Teen Idol website:

Jamie Walters (born June 13, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actor and musician. He started his screen career in 1988 with a commercial for Levi’s 501 Jeans. This was followed by guest appearances on Quantum Leap and a bit role in Everyday Heroes. His film debut came in 1991 with the movie Shout, alongside John Travolta, Heather Graham, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Jamie is best known for his role in the TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 as Ray Pruit, and The Heights, in which he also performed the theme song How Do You Talk to an Angel?, an Emmy-nominated, chart-topping song in 1992/1993. Through these successes, he has released three albums and performed in a few other small-scale movies over the years.
Walters is now working as a full-time firefighter/paramedic for the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Walters is focusing on his family and his career with the fire department but hopes to get back into music and acting sometime in the near future.

Check out the trailer for Confessions of a Teen Idol. The show premieres January 4th, 2009 at 8 EST on VH1.

Tiffani Thiessen Pregnant with First Baby

December 19, 2008

Star Magazine is reporting that 90210 alum Tiffani Thiessen is pregnant with her first child. Tiffani is 34, and this is her first pregnancy with husband Brady Smith.

“She and her husband are over the moon at the thought of becoming parents.”a source told Star.

“Tiffani wanted a baby so badly,” the source adds. “She had been seen going to a fertility center for treatments in Los Angeles to help her conceive.”

I wonder if she’ll name the baby Brandon or Luke if it’s a boy, or Kelly, Brenda or Valerie if it’s a girl :)

Shannen Doherty Looking Messed Up at Flaunt Magazine Party

December 19, 2008

Shannen Doherty showed up to the 10th Anniversary Flaunt Magazine party looking a bit messed up. Maybe she’s back to her party girl ways? I’m not sure if these are just bad shots of her, or her bangs are too long, but she definetly looks out of it.

Jason Priestley Excited To Join 90210

November 5, 2008

Jason Priestley is set to direct an upcoming episode of the new 90210. Fans were hoping for Jason to return as Brandon Walsh to reunite with Kelly Taylor, but we may just have to hold on for that.

“I just hope that Jennie [Garth]’s in the episode that I do, or that Shannen [Doherty]’s there,” the actor told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. “That’d be fun for me.”

He added “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a lot of fun to go over there and work with all those guys.”

Brian Austin Green Returns to Terminator Series

October 18, 2008

Brian Austin Green returned to the FOX series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as the futuristic soldier, Derek Reese.

The Beverly Hills 90210 alum describes working on the set:

It’s like a movie every week. If they tell me to run or jump off something, our stunt coordinator loves it because he knows I’ll do it. It’s been one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had.

On his days off he plays with his 6 year old son Kassius, born to Beverly Hills 90210 alum Vanessa Marcil (who played Donna’s cousin Gina).

Brian comment on the new 90210:

I think it’s amazing that they’ve been able to revamp the show. I’m excited for the new generation of fans.

He also said there was a possibility of his character, David Silver making a return, saying if the script called for it, he’d be open to doing a few scenes. I think fans would expect more than a few scenes!

You can catch The Sarah Connor Chronicles Mondays at 8pm on FOX. Check out a clip from tonight’s episode which features Brian Austin Green.

Shannen Doherty Says “There were Moments When I Hated Brenda”

October 6, 2008

Shannen Doherty dished about her character Brenda Walsh in an interview with Details magazine.

There were moments when I hated Brenda, but there were other moments when I saw vulnerability and greatness in her, and believed her passion for life would make her a great actor but not someone you would necessarily want to hang out with.

I don’t think Brenda was a complete brat. She was fueled by her insecurities: not being from Beverly Hills, not feeling safe in that environment. And then the love of her life was stolen from her. That can really injure a young girls esteem.

As for reprising her role as Brenda on the new 90210:

We all agreed we’d see how it goes. I can pay my mortgage and ride my horses because of those [original 90210] fans, is how I can repay them.
