Lori Loughlin Says Dylan Belongs with Kelly

November 12, 2008

90210’s Lori Loughlin says she hopes Luke Perry comes back to the new 90210 because he belongs with Kelly! Although she says she hasn’t had the chance to work with either Shannen Doherty or Jennie Garth she’s seen them on the set and claims there’s “no conflict”.

Lori’s 90210 character is definetly hotter than Beverly Hills 90210’s Cindy Walsh - but I’m not sure if I like her better as a TV than Cindy Walsh.

90210 Mom Comments On Skinny Stars

September 24, 2008

90210 Mom Lori Loughlin is speaking out about the accusations that the stars of 90210, Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup are starving themselves to stay skinny for the show.

Lori told InTouch:

They are thin, but they’ve been thin since the day I met them. It’s not like they got on the show and their weight just plummeted.

Shenae is very petite; her frame doesn’t even look like it could carry a lot of weight… I see them eating lunch and candy… These girls are young and their metabolisms are moving at light speed - they can eat whatever they want.

90210 Mom Lori Laughlin Talks About Family Life

September 16, 2008

90210 Mom Lori Laughlin talked to Modern Mom magazine about raising children in Hollywood. Lori has two children, Isabella Rose,9, and Olivia Jade, 8.

On the secret to balancing career and family:

I always make my children and family my first and foremost priority. Also when making a choice about taking on or accepting a role, the first thing I think about is how it’s going to affect my kids. If it takes away from an important time when my kids need me, then I pass on the project and stay home with them. However, I realize not all moms are in a similar position where they can choose to stay home with their kids. I do realize that my husband has a good job and can support our family and that I am very lucky that I have the flexibility to make those choices.

On what her parents taught her about parenting:

I think that the biggest things my parents taught me about parenting is to not be rigid, keep an open mind and communicate with your children constantly. They also taught me to deal with every situation as it’s handed to you. They helped me realize that it’s important to allow for flexibility as a parent and to understand and to empower my children.

On what she would like to teach her children:

I want to teach my children to be independent, kind, compassionate and self-sufficient. I think being self-sufficient is very important, especially for my girls because I want them to be able to rely on themselves in life. But if I could teach my children one thing it would be to live in the moment and enjoy every minute of life. I think it’s hard to really step back and enjoy ourselves in the world we live in, so I want to teach them that.

On her favorite family activity:

I love when we all go skiing as a family in Aspen, CO. It’s such a great thing to do with my husband and kids because we get to spend entire days together. Starting from the minute we wake up, we’re together all day having meals as a family, exercising, watching movies and just spending good quality time.

SHENAE GRIMES
as ANNIE WILSON

Canadian born actress Shenae Grimes stars in The CW’s new darama “90210,” her first U.S. television series, as the sweet theater student Annie Wilson.

The 18-year-old who hails from Toronto is best known to audiences for her role as Darcy in “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” for which she won the Gemini Award in 2007 for “Best Performance in a Youth Series.”

Grimes has had a love of performing since a very young age. Her acting career began when she enrolled in a triple-threat program and was discovered by her agent at a performance. Since then, she has fallen in love with acting and has been focused on developing her film and television career.

Grimes will next be seen starring opposite Ashley Tisdale in “Picture This!” and recently completed production on the feature “Dead Like Me,” as well as the television movie “True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet.” Grimes previously co-starred in the CBC movie of the week “Shania,” where she portrayed a teenaged Shania Twain, and had a recurring role on “Naturally Sadie.” Grimes has a love for fashion and recently completed an internship at Fashion Television in Toronto.

ROB ESTES

Rob Estes stars as Harry Wilson, a father who transplants his family from Kansas to Beverly Hills, in The CW’s new drama “90210.”

Estes recently appeared opposite Angie Harmon in “Women’s Murder Club.” Before that, he starred opposite Orlando Jones in the 2006 midseason series “The Evidence.” Before achieving mainstream stardom he was best known for his starring role as Chris Lorenzo, the fast-and-loose Palm Beach homicide detective in the cult favorite “Silk Stalkings.” More recently, he played recurring roles on “Providence,” “Suddenly Susan” and “Gilmore Girls.”

A graduate of the University of Southern California, Estes took a utilitarian approach to entering Hollywood, initially making plans for a career as a stuntman. It was quickly apparent, however, that his talents deserved a wider berth. Following several years on the hit show “Melrose Place,” Estes starred in several well-received but ultimately unsuccessful television pilots.

Frustrated with being limited to his work on screen, Estes made the decision to rediscover his craft on stage. He received excellent reviews in his starring role in Tennessee Williams’ play “The Rose Tattoo” at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles. When he moved with his family to Seattle in early 2003, he sought out opportunities in that city’s thriving theater scene. He had co-starring roles in productions in Seattle and at the nationally recognized Coeur D’Alene Rep in Idaho. This experience culminated in his co-starring performance as the duplicitous Solyony in Chekhov’s “Three Sisters” (adapted by Craig Lucas) at the famed Intiman Theatre under the tutelage of Artistic Director Bartlett Sheer.

Estes has also starred in such telefilms as “Sweet Temptation,” opposite Beverly D’Angelo. In 2000, he produced and starred opposite Jason Alexander in the independent feature “How to Go on a Date in Queens,” which also featured Ron Perelman and Kimberly Williams.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Estes resides in a suburb of Seattle, Washington. He has two children, Mason and Maya.

Not letting any grass grow under his feet, Tristan soon landed the role of Zachary Taylor in “The Secret Life of Bees,” the screen adaptation of the novel written by Sue Monk Kidd. Starring opposite Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifa, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys, this movie is in post-production and will be released in October 2008.

Meet The Hot Moms of 90210

August 6, 2008

It’s a new era in 90210, and the Mother’s of the CW’s 90210 are very different than Cindy Walsh. The parent’s storylines are going to much more a part of the show than they were in Beverly Hills 90210, I think that’s what made The O.C. such a great show. Julie and Kiki were way more interesting than Marissa or Summer!

Beverly Hills 90210 vs. The New 90210

August 4, 2008

The Executive Producer of CW’s new 90210 explained to USA the similarities and the differences of Beverly Hills 90210 vs. The New 90210.

“It was really important for us to do our own version of the show,” executive producer Gabe Sachs says. “Hopefully (viewers) can see it as a contemporary version” of the original.

Although the setting is the same with the ficticious West Beverly Hills High School and the Peach Pit hangout, as well as returning characters (Donna Martin, Kelly Taylor, Brenda Walsh and Nat), there are some differences in the new 90210:

• Main characters Annie and Dixon are not twins, unlike Brenda and Brandon
• Annie’s brother, Dixon is adopted
• Annie and Dixon’s Father (played by Rob Estes) is originally from Beverly Hills, unlike the Walshes who were natives of Minnesota
• Parents Debbie (Lori Loughlin) and Harry (Rob Estes) will have a more prominent roles, unlike Jim and Cindy Walsh

Lori Loughlin Dishes on 90210

July 31, 2008

Lori Loughlin dished to ET about her role on the new 90210 on the CW. Lori will play Debbie Mills, the mother of Annie Mills (essentially shes the new Cindy Walsh). Lori’s TV husband will be played by former “Melrose Place” hunk Rob Estes (the new Jim Walsh).

“When I read the pilot, I just saw [Rob] and I could hear him,” Lori admits. “It was so bizarre. I went to Gabe [Sachs, executive producer] and I said, ‘What about Rob?’ He’s like, ‘We love Rob, but he’s on another show’ and it was this whole big thing about how you just couldn’t have Rob. Then the heavens opened up and his show was cancelled and we got him, so we were lucky.”

Lori explains that the new “90210″ isn’t a remake of the old show, rather only the premise is the same: a brother and a sister, along with their parents, have moved from out of state — Kansas — and are now going to attend West Beverly High. A new twist is their dad (Estes) will be the principal of the school.
