90210’s Shenae Grimes talked to People Magazine about the rumors and speculation about her weight. Shenae denied having an eating disorder and even revealed that the subject is very serious to her since she had a best friend who battled an eating disorder.
Shenae claims she is 100 lbs, and that if she was what other claim a “healthy 120 lbs” she would look a little chunky since she’s 5′3″. Shenae says genetics are what make her so skinny, her mom is a fitness instructor and her dad is “super scrawny”.
On a typical day on the set, Shenae eats eggs, bacon, chicken, fruit, cheese and crackers, and veggies.
One thing Shenae says she dislikes about her body is her chest size.
I’d wear padded bras with stuffing! And then as my friends turned 16, 17, they got bigger but i stayed the same. It’s something I’ve had to overcome.

Shenae Grimes attended the 2008 Gemini Awards (Canada’s version of the Emmy’s). Although she wasn’t a nominee, she presented the award for Best Dramatic Series.
Jason Priestley was also at the Gala, and I heard Shenae refused to be photographed next to Jason Priestley on the red carpet - DIVA!

90210’s Shenae Grimes was named the new Brenda by Saturday Night Magazine, a lifestyle mag for twentysomthings.
Shenae talked about her character, Annie, and when asked if she sees Annie as more like the Brandon or the Brenda, Grimes says that, “I think Annie and Brenda are very similar for the obvious reasons, new girl in school trying to fit in with the high-rollers, an interest in musical theatre. Yet, at the same time, she reminds me a lot of Brandon as well. Brenda was a little less conscientious of rules and consequences and a little more impulsive, where as Annie, much like Brandon, often seems a little wiser than the average teen. She seems to have a pretty sophisticated sense of right from wrong.”
Shenae also said her favorite character on Beverly Hills 90210 were Brenda and Dylan, “They both had this careless air of cool, you just kinda wanted to be their friends. And of course my favorite storylines were anytime those two got back together.”

90210’s chain-smoking Shenae Grimes has taken to her blog to write about the recent tabloid stories accussing her and costar Jessica Stroup of being too skinny, and attacking Shenae’s gross smoking habit.
She wrote:
Now, as you all know now probably, I graced my first major magazine cover, only to be called ‘too skinny’ alongside my co-star Jessica Stroup. I would like to say once again that neither me or Jessica have issues with our weight or bodies. I happened to be very small built, and ive always been skinny. So I personally think that people need to stop criticizing everyone in the media these days about their issues. Im sure you wouldnt like it if someone pointed out all of your flaws and all of your mistakes.
As for her smoking habit Shenae says:
Cant say that im proud of it, but there are so many people struggling with the addiction nowadays. I started smoking at about 16, and 1 in 5 teenagers smoke. Im not going to really go into the issue, but my hope is that you will all just stop hating and get on with it. I smoke. My choice. Im sorry if you dont like it, but this is who I am.
I think she smokes to help make her skinny - such a bad idea!

90210’s Shenae Grimes responded to the recent Us Weekly cover featuring a story about the main stars being underweight and starving themselves. Shenae said, “We’re on set every day, and it’s going well,” and that they “just shake it off.” Denial, denial, denial…

90210 Mom Lori Loughlin is speaking out about the accusations that the stars of 90210, Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup are starving themselves to stay skinny for the show.
Lori told InTouch:
They are thin, but they’ve been thin since the day I met them. It’s not like they got on the show and their weight just plummeted.
Shenae is very petite; her frame doesn’t even look like it could carry a lot of weight… I see them eating lunch and candy… These girls are young and their metabolisms are moving at light speed - they can eat whatever they want.

Is 90210 newcomer Shenae Grimes following in the footsteps of Shannen Doherty as the megabitch diva on the set of the new 90210?
According to a source at the New York Post, Shenae is “tormenting everyone on set” and “acts rude to the cast, crew and extras”.
She has also snapped “who the hell are you?” at guest stars and told her co-stars: “This is my show - everyone else is riding my coattails.”
I would really hope that she isn’t acting like this, or it may impact the success of the show. Shenae came from the Nickelodeon show Degrassi, where she spent for years - which may be boosting her confidence a little too much.

The new cover of Us Weekly shows the stars of 90210, Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup looking extremely thin. A source told Us Weekly that Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup have lost tons of weight since joining the show. The source said: “I’ve never seen Jessica or Shenae eat.”
A weight-management expert guessed that Shenae is 5′3″ and weighs 90 pounds. They gussed Jessica is 5′8″ and weighs 100 to 105 pounds.
Apparently the producers of the show, and some of the guys on the show are planning an intervention to have Shenae and Jessica get some help before things get out of control.
I don’t remember this ever being an issue on 90210, Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth were always a normal, healthy weight - although Tori Spelling was always suspected of having an eating disorder, but I think she was just naturally very thin.

Shannen Doherty has decided to take new girl Shenae Grimes under her wing ( I just realized they have similar first names, Shannen and Shanae) as the star of the new hit show, 90210.
Shenae plays Annie Dixon, the Brenda Walsh of the new 90210. Annie is new in town and not used to the fast life of the rich and spoiled teens at West Beverly High.
Shannen recently said in an interview,
I feel a weird kinship toward Shenae. Maybe it’s because her character is similar to how Brenda started out. It’s also because Shenae is smart and she knows what she’s doing, but at the same time there’s a vulnerability there, and I want to put my arms around her and protect her.
Although the two characters have a flair for acting (Shenae is taking a part in the high school’s musical, Spring Awakening), there are some differences between Brenda and Annie.
Brenda had this spunky attitude about her. She may have felt insecure, but she was pretty good at maintaining an air of confidence. Annie is a lot more naive. She’s shyer. She’s very gentle in her approach, and she takes things very personally.
Shannen also spoke about the pressures of being on a hit show, and helping Shenae deal with the paparazzi,
The great thing is that she’s smart enough that she’s not going to make the same mistakes I made. But because I made those mistakes, I can help her along the way.
Shenae says she’s learning from Shannen, “about the business and set life and Hollywood and paparazzi and everything that’s so foreign to me.”
